  • TiospayeThe death of a homeless man confirms the concept of tiospaye for Jim and Blair. Tiospaye is a Sioux term for…well, you’ll have to read the story to find out. Spoilers for The Waiting Room. Rated G.

  • The Dragon Slayer (a birthday story for Paula) — Jim Ellison is Blair’s Sentinel, Best Friend, and Blessed Protector. But Dragon Slayer? Yes, it appears that Jim serves yet another purpose in Blair’s life. Harmless smarm and silliness, a prequel of sorts to Robyn’s A Dream Within a Dream. Rated G.
  • Cold Front(epilogue to Sentinel Too, Part 2) — Co-authored with Paula. The trip from Sierra Verde to Cascade holds heartache for Jim and Blair as the two men struggle with the events that took place in Mexico. There are no easy answers. Can the friendship survive? Rated G.
  • This "Big Brother" Thing(epilogue to The Girl Next Door) – A sleepy Blair and a much-too-cheerful-in-the-morning Jim have a conversation regarding Jim’s status as Blair’s "big brother." Blatant displays of friendship with a smattering of smarm and humor. Rated G.
  • The ShatteringJim and Blair both become victims of a hired assassin, though for different reasons. The turmoil experienced by both men serves to strengthen the bond between them. An angsty, hurt/comfort story wherein the relationship between the guys is paramount to plot ( though there is a plot, too–I promise!) Rated PG for violence.
  • Remember This(epilogue to Sentinel Too, Part 1) – Months have passed since Blair’s drowning, and he and Jim are closer than ever. But even that new closeness can’t prevent the nightmares that still come to Blair. Jim, helpless to stop the dreams, strives to give Blair something positive and comforting to use as a defense against them. Rated G.
  • Chief(epilogue to Remembrance) – A minor accident at the loft prompts Jim to reveal the story behind the nickname that he uses for his partner. The importance of the man who first called Jim "Chief" serves to emphasize Blair’s importance in Jim’s life. A domestic moment, filled with warmth and easy familiarity between the two friends. Rated G.
  • Night Watch (epilogue to Sentinel Too, Part 1) – Jim keeps vigil over Blair’s bedside that first night after the drowning. No dialogue occurs between the two but none is needed, as Jim finds that actions often speak much louder than words. Rated G.
  • The Heart Of a Friend(poem) – Jim’s reflection on the blessing of Blair’s friendship, a gift given to him in mid-life that will be treasured for the rest of his days. Rated G.
  • Hearts Under Construction(epilogue to Night Shift) – Blair is unable to let go of the deep hurt inflicted by Jim at the station the night before. He soon finds out, however, that Jim is dealing with some pretty strong feelings of his own. Rated G.
  • The GuardianJim’s internal musings on the tender soul of his guide and partner, and the damage inflicted on that soul by the atrocities witnessed due to Jim’s profession. Rated G.
  • Of Priceless Worth(epilogue to Mirror Image) – Blair deals with the aftermath of Chapel’s break-in at the loft and his own feelings of guilt. His reluctant confession to Jim results in the detective’s assurance to Blair of the important part he has in Jim’s life. Rated G.
  • Killing Me SoftlyAn outbreak of unusual serial killings not only challenges Jim’s abilities as a detective, but also resurrects some painful memories from his past. Will he be able to focus on the case and bring the killer to justice? Rated PG for violence.
  • Nancy Drew and the Case of the Missing AnthropologistA therapeutic story written to help me deal with the appearance of the oh-so-annoying Cassie Wells. Jim devises a method of keeping the meddling redhead away from his partner. Rated G.
  • A Step Too Far(epilogue to Vendetta) – Freeman’s early and unexpected release from prison puts Jim and Blair in danger. After Blair becomes the victim of Freeman’s rage, Jim finds a rather unusual way to keep the anthropologist occupied during his recovery. Rated G.
  • Family PhotosJim receives a gift from Blair that shows the depth of the familial feelings that his partner has toward him. A feel-good story that indicates it is the small things in life that mean the most. Rated G.
  • Something Lost, Something Gained Blair receives a phone call that could forever change his life. As he struggles with the ramifications of the call and the ensuing circumstances that it brings about, Jim steps in to provide a haven of strength and comfort for his friend. Rated G.
  • Hero Worship (epilogue to Three-Point Shot) – Blair is the recipient of a "thank you" present from his childhood hero, Jag’s player Orvelle Wallace. But will our little anthropologist be willing to share his gift with Jim? Rated G.
  • The Emissaries of IgnoranceBlair is the victim of prejudice in a small town located on Washington’s White Pass. Jim’s inquiry into Blair’s attack reveals that it is not an isolated incident. Special thanks to Paula for her collaborative efforts on Part Two. Without her help, this story would have died a slow and painful death. Rated PG for violence.
  • RegretsJim hears something that causes him to regret having Sentinel abilities. This time it is Blair who must be a source of strength and comfort. Rated G.

  • In Harm’s WayBlair tries to help a student who is apparently the victim of abuse. With Jim out of town, he must deal with the situation on his own, but not without dire consequences. Rated PG for minor violence.

  • The Price of FriendshipMy least favorite of my own stories. Jim, Blair, and a mutual friend are targeted by a young cadet who is kicked out of the police academy due to psychological instability. (This story introduces Anne McDermott, a character who is referred to briefly in a couple of later stories, but who never again appears in such a major role.) Rated G.
  • Dead Drop(Missing Scene) – Jim’s reaction to Blair’s apparent death in the elevator of the Wilkinson Tower. Rated G.
  • The Accident — My first attempt at fanfic. Blair is injured in an automobile accident and Jim holds vigil by his bedside. Rated G.

  • Echoes From Borneo Dr. Eli Stoddard returns from Borneo and is immediately plunged into a controversy regarding a former student–a controversy that soon turns deadly. When Jim and Blair become involved, they are faced with a scenario of corruption and attempted murder that could topple the career of one of Rainier’s more pretigious staff members. Rated PG-13.
  • Wrong Place, Wrong TimeBlair is asked to serve as keynote speaker at an anthropology conference at Washington State University. However, a routine stop en route placed Jim and Blair in the middle of a botched bank robbery. Rated PG.
  • Day of ReckoningAngered after learning her son killed a man, Naomi Sandburg shows up at the loft, determined to separate Blair from Jim and his "bad influence." But her surprise visit is interrupted by the return of an old adversary of Jim and Blair’s. Rated PG13.
  • Blessed ProtectorIn the aftermath of Marcus Grant’s attack on Blair, Jim is plagued with nightmares regarding another case from his past. Will he talk to Blair before the dreams consume him? Rated G.
